The Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is a non-governmental, politically neutral organization uniting Latvian businesses of various sectors country wide. It operates in accordance with internationally accepted principles of Chambers of Commerce, promoting sound business environment and representing interests of its members as well as offering relevant business services. LCCI represents business interests through a dialogue with national and local governments, and participates in the drafting of commercial legislation in Latvia. LCCI also provides a regular flow of reliable business information, both domestically and internationally, and contributes to the development of Latvia’s foreign trade.

LCCI is the largest business organization in the country. Almost 1000 Latvian enterprises are members of LCCI, members include the leading companies in each industrial sector of Latvia. More than 85% of the members are small and medium size companies.

The LCCI:

• mediates offers of cooperation between Latvian and foreign firms and assists in finding business partners. In order to achieve this aim LCCI organizes trade missions and business visits of Latvian companies abroad and receives foreign trade missions and business visits in Latvia. Also the LCCI organizes Latvian participation at business promotion events and business forums within different programs (EUROPARTENARIAT, INTERPRISE, etc.). The Latvian-Russian business Co-operation Council with an aim to strengthen economic links between the two countries had been established at LCCI;

• provides information on economic legislation in Latvia and abroad, Latvian import and export regulations, enterprises and institutions in Latvia and abroad. LCCI offers company catalogues, data base of business offers www.chamber.lv which can be found in the home page of LCCI, data base of LCCI members;

• provides business advise, market research, information on the current state of different sectors of the economy and development prospects;

• issues certificates of origin and other foreign trade documents, bar codes (Bureau "EAN-Latvia"). Since January 2001 LCCI issues ATA Carnet;

• organizes exhibitions in different regions of Latvia, exhibitions of Latvian goods EXPO LATVIA abroad, promotes international exhibitions in Latvia and abroad, arranges participation of Latvian enterprises at exhibitions and fairs abroad. The Latvian Union of Fair Organizers (LIRA) uniting all major exhibition and fair organizers is established at the LCCI;

• offers the services of the Arbitration of LCCI;

• organizes training courses and seminars at the LCCI Training Center;

• organizes the networking events for member companies - Business Lunches, New Members’ Meetings, LCCI Entrepreneur’s Nights, LCCI Information Days in different regions of Latvia, Annual Members’ Party.
